If you’re not getting the sound when it’s working, or when you put in new batteries, or when you turn it on at all, the following are reasons your sound barrier may have broken. And it’s no biggie to fix them.

Reason 1: The wires inside are severed or stripped down. Check them with a wire tester to see if they work before cutting off any more of the wire!

Reason 2: The wires are connected incorrectly. Make sure there is a (+) and (-) for each speaker connection.

Reason 3: The battery clip is loose and not making contact with both sides of the circuit board to power up your sound barrier properly. Check for a loose battery clip and a stretch of the wires to find out if this is the problem.

What can I use as a sound barrier?
There are a lot of ways to go about making a sound barrier, but my favorite is using a door as the sound barrier. If you have an interior door, it can be very easy to construct a relatively soundproof barrier. You can even make plexiglass doors that look good and let in light, but block most sounds from going through them!
So what I use when I’m in a room that’s not soundproofed is a door. In this case, it’s mounted in an exterior wall to catch sounds. I’ve found that it works very well, and you can even add a fan so you can feel reasonably cool while listening to your music or watching TV.

If the space is really low on here, but high on noise though, take a look at these foam panels for making an insulation barrier. They’re hinged together with velcro along the top edge. You can get them in different sizes and thicknesses, and they’re very easy to install. As you can see in the picture, they’re pretty easy to take down for storage when you don’t need them. I especially recommend these if you have a lot of nooks and crannies in the wall because it’s really a great way to make sure that sound doesn’t escape anywhere through your walls.

So a while back, I was told about this tool called a “Rotobrush” that would allow me to get into all of those little spaces to clean them out. So while I was skeptical at first, it has certainly not disappointed me yet. I’ve used it to clean out the wall cavity that my subwoofer is mounted in, and to clean out all of those little, tight spots. So if you’ve got some hard to reach spaces like your TV cabinet, this thing will absolutely help you get them done. Since I live in an old home, I have a lot of old studs that are about an inch and a half thick. However, they’re not ideal for soundproofing because they’re just too thin.

What about a sound barrier that converts into a portable speaker?

If you’d like to hear a portable sound barrier, but it’s awkward in a living room or a bedroom, then this may be for you. It’s not quite as portable as an iPod speaker system, but it can still be used to play music from your computer. In fact, you can even plug in a USB flash drive and use it for that purpose.

A sound barrier that converts into a portable speaker may be exactly what you need to get your friends all excited about going on a long weekend camping trip. It’s lightweight and can be taken anywhere easily. The speaker itself, however, is not exactly portable; it comes with a AC to AC power converter that allows for wall outlet charging.
It’s good for small rooms or offices, and has an intervention style bass port for great quality sound. With a frequency response of 45 to 20,000 hertz, it’s got one of the widest ranges of frequencies available on any speaker system. And it doesn’t take up much space either.

Although it’s not as powerful as larger sound barrier systems, it can be used to fill a room with music and/or movie sound effects without annoying your neighbors. Don’t believe me? I’ve got a video that shows just how effective it is at blocking sound.

What about a sound barrier system to help with noises from neighbors?

Here’s a soundbarrier that you can hear from half a block away. It’s especially designed to block out noises from neighbors or from outside altogether. If you live in an apartment building, you probably know how uncomfortable it can be when your neighbors are talking, watching TV, or even arguing late at night.

This sound barrier is almost 4 feet tall and has bass ports on both ends. Instead of having an amplifier, it comes with a pair of detachable speakers that offer great quality sound in a system that feels bigger than it is.

The 6 watt per channel power system pumps out enough sound to fill any bedroom or living room with music or movie sound effects, even if you set it at half power. The range for this system is 45 to 20,000 hertz, which isn’t quite as wide as the other system I showed you, but will definitely suffice in most situations. This model also comes with a remote control so you can change the volume without getting up off the couch.

The baffles can be folded back for easy storage when you’re not using them. If you like music but you want to leave the volume down, it’ll be very quiet so you can play your music in the background at lower volumes without disturbing your neighbors.

It may not block out noise from neighbors completely, but if they’re within half a block of your house it will give them something else to think about……a very loud sound barrier system.

What about a sound barrier that you can play music through?

You know, I think this sound barrier is a little bit bigger than you’d expect. Measurements aren’t included with it so you should measure the space where you want to mount it before purchasing it. It has a frequency response of 45 to 20,000 hertz so it should work well for most situations.

This model is meant to be played through speakers and not amplified; however, there are also models that come with both types of speakers and amplifiers if this one doesn’t work for your needs.

The cord covers on the ends of the sound barrier can be removed easily and stored in a nearby closet or cabinet when you don’t need them. The speaker’s size is much larger than I expected it to be, so you probably won’t have any trouble finding a spot to mount it in your room. You can even stand below the barrier when you want to listen to the music.

The only issue with this sound barrier is that it can create resonance if you place it too close to other types of vibrations like doors slamming or people walking past your bedroom. However, this wouldn’t be a problem in most situations.

What about a noise machine that also doubles as a sound barrier?

Noise machines are best for troublemakers that are too loud or noisy at night, whether they live upstairs or downstairs from you. The rolling rumble of this machine is easy to hear and seems to be heard by everyone in the house.

It can produce a rolling rumble as quiet as 50 decibels so it won’t wake up someone who isn’t trying to sleep. However, if you don’t want your dog or the kids up and walking around the house at night, it also has a much louder rumble that measures 80 decibels. And if that isn’t enough, there are a variety of white noise sounds available for you to choose from.
This machine is meant for use in homes, offices, and even sleeping environments.

When you want to use a speaker as a sound barrier, you need to remember to take it apart first. To turn your sound barrier into a portable speaker, flip it over and unclip the battery cover to expose the speaker cable connections. Then plug one cable into the (+) terminal and the other cable into (-). The (+) cable should be connected to one side of your circuit board and the (-) cable connected to the other side.

A sound barrier can block out noise from neighbors, pets, and even noisy fans. No matter what kind of noise barrier that you’re looking for, we’ve got plenty of great options that will work for you. And don’t worry – if you’re having trouble finding the right sound barrier chord, we can help you find one that will work for your needs.

Making your house soundproof is easy enough. You can get by with a few cheap items at any big box store, but if you want more of a premium soundproofing system, you’ll have to pay more. However, there are plenty of aftermarket soundproofing systems available today that will help keep your family quiet and reduce the amount of noise they make at night or during the day when playing outside.
